Puppies Behind Bars at Alden Kindness Club!

Puppies Behind Bars reached out to the District because they were interested in working with a group of students to perform a demonstration of its services, including training dogs.  They are seeking to create an ongoing relationship with the district to educate our students on the PBB organization.   The puppies bring a sense of purpose to the prisoners that raise and train them, and joy and independence to the end users be it veterans or members of the police force.  It is really a win-win for all involved!  Since its inception in 1997, over 3000 dogs have graduated from the program.

The handlers brought two puppies that are currently being trained and two "graduates" of the program that work with Orange County Sheriff's Office and Tuckahoe Police Department.  They each shared their dogs history, demonstrated skills that each dog possesses and allowed our students time to pet and interact with each dog.

Alden Place Kindness Club was thrilled to host such a valuable organization.

Earlier in the year, the Alden Place Kindness Club created holiday cards for the Troops, painted rocks and made sidewalk art, and designed Vereran's Day cards for the patients at Castle Point.
